On Wednesday 9 May, a group of Adelaide University students, including a number from the Law School, attended a networking and engagement event at the Adelaide offices of the Adelaide Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) and Australian Energy Regulator (AER).

The event, organised by commercial law lecturer Dr Mark Giancaspro, was designed to bridge the gap between study and practice, and give students the rare opportunity to engage with commercial industry regulators and agencies on a more personal level. Students had the opportunity to learn about different career opportunities, ask questions of senior personnel within the ACCC/AER, discuss their studies, and understand how the skills they are taught are vital and applied in practice.

Special thanks to Candice Field and Jessica Hargreaves of the ACCC for kindly assisting in making this event possible, and to Jessica (again), Rachel Waye, Georgiana Copeland, Alistair Pellen and Matthew Defaweux for kindly chatting with our students on the day. We look forward to continuing our wonderful affiliation with the ACCC/AER.
